Canoe Trips
Rates are on a per-canoe basis and all arrive back at Rollways or at your option, we will pick you up at Loud Dam. Charges include all equipment and delivery to drop off and pickup if needed. The U.S. Forest Service has asked that our canoes and tubes be off the water prior to 6:00 p.m. and that we launch no earlier than 10:00 a.m. at the Thompson’s Landing launch site. Please plan your trip according to the departure times and be on time to avoid disappointment.
The AuSable River is 1 to 3 feet deep and the current runs about 6 to 8 miles per hour, so it is safe for the whole family.
Our canoes, paddles and floatation devices are all safety inspected by the Michigan Waterways Commission. We do not assume responsibility for canoeists’ safety as that depends upon the individual. Overnight camping is free along most sections of the river. There are some sections where a permit is necessary.
CAUTION: Persons in poor physical condition, or with any physical handicaps, please ask for complete information about trip before departure.
